look what i did today!
for this

.

.
i started out tracing a pattern on construction paper
pinned it on some felt and cut
sort of wung it with the embroidery
she's stuffed with plastic grocery bags!
i was trying to think of something around the house so i wouldn't have to go anywhere
and recycling is always good
russell said if i didn't like how it worked i could always let the bag out of the cat
har har
but it worked really well
i have to say i'm pretty pleased with myself
.
and my inspiration
.

.
i've had this one since forever
my great aunt who lived in brooklyn gave her to me when i was small
i think it was her
i remember the dark hallways and heavy doors and buzzers with intercoms to let you in
and my grandmother's fancy patterned peppermints in glass dishes
but i think it was my great aunt who gave me the little cat
she's always been my favorite
.
thanks to loobylu for getting me started!

i've been wanting to make another little cat or some stuffed things in general for a while and when i saw her project it gave me the perfect push to go ahead and try
