then and now
.

.

.
my 7th birthday
her name is sheeba
we were inseperable can you tell?
except for that time i droppped her in a mud puddle
although cumulatively i can't say that was the worst of it
there is still some white under her ears!
i like to spread all her fur out from in front of her eyes but it looks funny like someone who usually wears glasses or a sheepdog shaved for the summer
she used to have a tail wire and a bell
i carried her by the middle so she's out of stuffing there
and once she had surgery on her chin
but only the opening up part, no stitching back together like mine
my mother was embarassed and tried a replacement sheeba some years later
poor kitty i can't even remember her name

Date: 2006-02-01 05:14 am (UTC)This makes me want to find my Sandy and take a picture. She was an all-cloth doll with red yarn hair that I wore down until it was just a ring of short red stubble. She wore flannel pajamas with little airplanes on them. I love her.

Cute kids :) Is that your sister? I love little girls with dark hair and eyes, vanity :)

Date: 2006-02-01 09:24 am (UTC)My favourite though was a teddybear that I named Vennen (=friend). One time I lost him on the ferry when going on summer vacation, and I cried and cried for days. I think my parents bought me a hundred new teddybears that summer, to make up for the loss, but they could never be the same. Imagine the joy when we came back a year later to find Vennen sitting right there in the ticket booth!

Date: 2006-02-01 08:04 pm (UTC)I don't have pictures of me carrying him around though. The stuffed animal I used to carry with me everywhere was George the Brontosaurus, and his head wouldn't stay up because I always carried him by the neck. Poor George.

Date: 2006-02-01 10:26 pm (UTC)My old stuffed animal isn't even from childhood! Is that sad? It's an Elmo doll my best friend bought me in high school before he became so ubiquitous and annoying. The more I think about it, I think it makes sense though... I needed a lot more comfort and snuggles as an overly emotional teen than I did as a kid!
